1. Main Entrance and Administration

The main entrance serves as the primary access point for employees, approved visitors, legal representatives, contractors, and official vehicles.

This area includes:

• A secured entrance lobby
• Visitor identification and screening stations
• Staff check-in and security processing
• Administrative offices
• The warden’s office
• Conference and briefing rooms
• Records and inmate-processing offices
• Staff lockers and changing facilities
• A public waiting area
• Separate entrances for staff, visitors, and inmate transportation

The administration building is separated from the inmate housing areas by controlled-access corridors and secured checkpoints.

2. Reception and Intake Center

Newly admitted inmates are processed through the reception and intake center before receiving a permanent housing assignment.

The intake center contains:

• Secure vehicle-arrival bays
• Temporary holding cells
• Identification and fingerprinting rooms
• Property inventory and storage rooms
• Medical and mental-health screening rooms
• Interview and classification offices
• Shower and clothing-issue areas
• Search rooms
• Short-term observation cells

During intake, inmates are evaluated according to their sentence, medical needs, behavioral history, security classification, and housing requirements.

3. General-Population Housing Units

The general-population area is divided into several separate housing units. Each unit contains cells or dormitory-style rooms arranged around a supervised common area.

Each housing unit includes:

• Single- and double-occupancy cells
• Central officer stations
• Dayrooms
• Communal seating areas
• Showers and sanitation facilities
• Telephone and approved communication stations
• Laundry rooms
• Drinking-water stations
• Small interview rooms
• Secure outdoor exercise yards

Housing units are separated according to security classification, sentence status, age, medical condition, and institutional behavior.

4. Maximum-Security Wing

The maximum-security wing houses inmates who require a higher level of supervision because of their sentence, conduct, escape risk, or security classification.

The wing contains:

• Reinforced single-occupancy cells
• Controlled individual shower areas
• Restricted recreation spaces
• Secure legal-consultation rooms
• Medical examination rooms
• Centralized observation stations
• Limited-movement corridors
• Separate meal-distribution areas

Movement within this section is closely scheduled and supervised. Inmates are generally escorted individually or in small groups.

5. Special Housing and Solitary-Confinement Unit

The special housing unit is used for disciplinary confinement, protective custody, medical isolation, administrative separation, and court-ordered restrictions.

This area includes:

• Single-occupancy cells
• Observation cells
• Suicide-watch rooms
• Individual exercise enclosures
• Secure shower rooms
• Mental-health interview rooms
• Legal visitation booths
• Medical treatment rooms
• Officer monitoring stations

Inmates placed under the highest restrictions may remain in their cells for up to 23 hours per day, subject to applicable laws, medical review, and institutional policy.

6. Death-Row Wing

The death-row wing is physically separated from the general prison population. It houses female inmates sentenced to death by federal, state, or specially authorized international jurisdictions.

The wing contains:

• Single-occupancy cells
• High-observation officer stations
• Secure indoor recreation rooms
• Individual outdoor exercise areas
• Legal-consultation booths
• Religious-counselling rooms
• Medical and mental-health rooms
• Restricted visitation areas
• A secure meal-distribution station

7. Death House

The death house is a separate, highly restricted building located within the secure prison perimeter. It is used during the final stage of an inmate’s sentence.

The building includes:

• A secured transfer entrance
• A final holding cell
• A preparation and observation room
• A medical examination area
• A private legal-consultation room
• A chaplain’s room
• Staff briefing rooms
• Witness waiting and observation areas
• Secure equipment and evidence-storage rooms
• Designated execution chambers

The execution section is divided into separate controlled areas for authorized personnel, witnesses, medical staff, and the condemned inmate.

The facility may contain legally authorized equipment for:

• Lethal injection
• Electrocution
• Gas-chamber execution
• Hanging
• Other execution methods approved by the relevant jurisdiction

The death house remains isolated from normal prison operations. Access is limited to authorized personnel.

8. Medical and Mental-Health Center

The prison contains an internal healthcare center capable of providing routine, emergency, and long-term treatment.

The medical center includes:

• Examination rooms
• An infirmary
• Dental-treatment rooms
• A pharmacy
• Medical-isolation rooms
• Emergency-treatment rooms
• Mental-health counselling offices
• Psychiatric-observation cells
• Substance-abuse treatment rooms
• Secure patient wards

Inmates requiring treatment beyond the facility’s capabilities may be transferred under guard to an approved external hospital.

9. Visitation Center

The visitation center is positioned near the administrative entrance so visitors do not pass through inmate housing areas.

It includes:

• Visitor-processing stations
• General visitation rooms
• Non-contact visitation booths
• Attorney-client meeting rooms
• Family visitation spaces
• Child-friendly waiting areas
• Search and screening rooms
• Staff observation areas
• Secure inmate-entry corridors

Death-row, maximum-security, and special-housing inmates use separate non-contact visitation sections.

10. Lockdown Configuration

During major incidents, emergency conditions, or preparations for an execution, the institution may enter a full or partial lockdown.

During a lockdown:

• Inmate movement is suspended or severely restricted
• Housing-unit doors remain secured
• Programs and visitation may be cancelled
• Meals are delivered to housing units
• Staff are assigned to emergency posts
• Transportation and deliveries are restricted
• Medical care continues under controlled procedures
• The death-row wing and death house are placed under heightened restrictions

An execution-related lockdown may begin approximately 24 to 48 hours before the scheduled execution and remain in effect until the facility is formally cleared to resume normal operations.
