Rebecca Louise Carter was arrested inside Court Room 4 of The Old Bailey for the stabbing death of Ms. Anjali Nirmala Perera on 31 March, 2022. Ms. Perera had just been convicted of two counts of Manslaughter for the drowning deaths of Oliver and Sophie Carter, two of the three children of Rebecca Carter. Ms. Carter had concealed a hidden blade on her person's and managed to enter the court room without it being discovered. Ms. Perera was pronounced dead at the scene. Ms. Carter was official charged with Murder and was arraigned into the Central London Metropolitan Police Service Custody Suite while awaiting trial.
