Sheila Marvin was convicted for her role in a violent armed robbery that occurred at a privately owned jewelry and pawn shop in Pensacola, Florida. According to prosecutors, Marvin and her boyfriend had spent several weeks planning the robbery after learning that the business routinely kept large amounts of cash, jewelry, and firearms on the premises. On the evening of the robbery, Marvin entered the store shortly before closing and posed as a customer. Once the other customers had left, she signaled her accomplice, who entered through a rear entrance. Marvin produced a handgun and ordered the store owner and an employee to the floor while her accomplice emptied display cases and the store's safe. During the robbery, the owner attempted to intervene. Marvin struck him several times with the handgun, causing serious injuries. The pair fled with approximately $86,000 in cash, jewelry, firearms, and other merchandise. Investigators identified Marvin after surveillance footage captured her vehicle near the business. Detectives later recovered stolen jewelry and one of the firearms during a search of her residence. Text messages between Marvin and her accomplice also revealed that the two had discussed the robbery for several weeks and had attempted to sell portions of the stolen property following the crime. Convictions Marvin was ultimately convicted of: Armed Robbery Burglary While Armed Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon Grand Theft Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony Dealing in Stolen Property
