At 06:42 AM on the 17th of November, 2022, Detective Sergeant Hale and Police Constable Nair, accompanied by members of the Specialist Crime Team, simultaneously took Mr. Daniel Elias Varga into custody on Suspicion of Murder, and executed a Search Warrant for his residence and place of work. Mr. Varga has been the primary suspect in the 10 November murder of Mr. Jonathon Mercer. Mr. Varga was booked into the Charing Cross Metropolitan Police Station at 07:21 Am and processed into the Charing Cross Custody Suite for detainment pending a hearing in Crown Court.
