On the day of public rejoicing,
The Princess Stella Sobieski—
Declared a witch, a heretic, and maiden
By the Most Holy Tribunal—
Shall be led forth
Alongside her accomplice,
Kneeling in a cart,
Through the Lower Town,
Clad in the livery of heretics,
Shackled as befits women of her kind,
And with a rope around her neck,
To the steps of the temple,
There to confess her crimes.
Having made her confession,
She shall be led by the executioner
To the Royal Square,
Where she shall be bound and chained to the stake
Of a pyre of dry wood,
Forced to witness the torment of her accomplice
And abandoned alive to the flames,
Slowly consumed,
In expiation of her crimes.
By reason of the gravity of her crimes,
The mercy of the fire
Is not granted to the witch.
