LANSING, Mich. — In an extraordinary public briefing Tuesday morning, the Michigan State Police officially announced that Xinyi Lin, the 19-year-old Northern Lake University student convicted of major drug trafficking offenses under the nation's capital narcotics laws, is scheduled to be publicly executed on August 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Northern Lake University Stadium.
The announcement came one day after Lin's final clemency petition was denied, according to state officials, exhausting the last remaining avenue for relief following the denial of her final judicial appeal on Friday.
