TC Midgar Detention Complex — State correctional officials announced today that an execution date has been scheduled for Sarah Mitchell, who was convicted in 2025 of first-degree murder and multiple related felonies stemming from the apartment fire that claimed six lives.
According to court records, all direct appeals and post-conviction proceedings in the case had concluded, allowing the trial court to issue an execution warrant. Officials confirmed that the sentence would be carried out at the end of July at TC Midgar Detention Complex.
Mitchell, now 21, was formally notified of the scheduled date by court officials inside the detention facility. Prison administrators stated that standard institutional procedures would be followed in the weeks leading up to the warrant, including opportunities for approved family visits, legal consultations, and spiritual counseling.
Correctional officials declined to release additional details beyond confirming that preparations would proceed in accordance with institutional policy.
